Another Year Older!

That's right, the husband is officially another year older as of Tuesday! We started the celebration early on Saturday with a surprise birthday party for him. I had conspired with one of his friends to have a party for Jed and am glad to say that it went without a hitch!! Yay! I was SO nervous the day of as I thought for SURE I would blow it either by something I said or how I acted! However, he never suspected a thing!

Here was our plan: Our friends invited us over for a "dinner" at their house so we went over there Sat to have a BBQ, however when we got there Ryan asked Jed to go with him to run an "urgent errand". So as soon as they left Amanda and I packed up all the food and the kiddos and went back to our house where everyone was going to meet us! Once we arrived most everyone was there and they helped us hurry and set everything up. On the way home from their "errand" we called Ryan and told him to stop by our house to pick up hamburger buns because Amanda had "realized" that she didn't have any (silly Amanda). SOOOOO they stopped by our house to get the hamburger buns, Jed walked in the house and we all jumped out and surprised him! It was hilarious! The look on his face was priceless as you could tell he was trying to put everything together in his head as to why he was stopping to get hamburger buns and everyone is at our house, and there was food out ready to eat, etc.

It was such a fun evening. We barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, I had made a potato salad and a frozen raspberry salad (both of his faves) and a few other salads and dips for everyone to enjoy. We sang a little karaoke, sang Happy Birthday to him and opened up gifts. I finally broke down and splurged on a Wii! He got a couple of other games that night for his new Wii as well. So of course the guys immediately opened up the Wii and began to set it up so they could play the night away with some boxing, bowling and baseball!
Makenzi was helping her Daddy open each of his gifts!
Jed realizes that it is indeed a Nintendo Wii! Yay!

Robin and Jed trying out their mad boxing skills!

Overall it was a fun night! Thanks everyone for coming and making it such a great day for Jed!
