No fun, no fun at all!

Bailee in hospital

Our sweet baby girl had a random sore on her leg this past weekend. I wasn’t worried too much about it as it was just so small and seemingly harmless.  I would put some neosporin on it to kind of help it heal.

Well, Monday morning came and Bailee wasn’t feeling all that well. :(  She felt warm, had diarrhea and her sore had tripled in size! So it was off to the dr’s to hopefully get an antibiotic of sorts.

Not so much.

Fever was 102.8 and dr. was pretty concerned with the size of the sore and cultured it….and then sent us on over to the hospital to get her admitted to start treating her with IV antibiotics.

What?! I just came for a prescription!  Well, I got one, just a stronger one than I thought.

I cried, I’m a wimp.  She’s so little and so warm and well…worse than I thought. :(

Jed and our home teacher gave her a blessing before heading over to the hospital.  Heavenly Father answers prayers. Most definitely.

I admitted our sweetness to the hospital.  They did her vitals and NO fever! Not even a low grade. Nothing. (Such a blessing)

They got her IV started and the antibiotics going. Thank goodness for modern medicine that can treat my little 5 month old and get her feeling better!

I’m grateful for our awesome pediatrician! She ROCKS…Well, we actually had 2 docs taking care of her. The one that initially saw and admitted her as well as our pediatrician and they both were fantastic. FANTASTIC!  She was so taken care of and as a mom, what more could you ask for?

Little Bailee started improving, the sore slowly but surely getting better.  Turns out it she has a staph infection!  What the crap?! I have no idea where it came from but I’m glad it’s going away! She also had tested positive for para influenza 2, hence her fever and diarrhea.  :(  Thankfully our not-so-fab hospital stay was only 2 days and not the potential three!  We were both ready to get out of there and ready for a good night’s sleep!!  Poor thing was just exhausted! She slept all night, I mean ALL night: 11:30 to 8:30 this morning!

On another note, we have amazing family, friends and neighbors that have gone completely out of their way to help us out.  We couldn’t ask for a better support system! You guys are AWESOME! And THANK YOU for all that you have done for us! We are so blessed.
