Pink Palooza!

AKA: Makenzi’s 5th birthday party! Oh. My. PINK!!

If you know Kenzi at all you know that she likes to be FANCY and LOVES to dress up.  Her fave color is pink and her favorite treat would be PINK marshmallows (well, any marshmallows will do but the pink ones are her favorite ones).

So for her “magical” birthday (turning 5 on the 5th) I wanted her to have an extra special birthday party that was PINK and FANCY and full of her favorite things!

I did some online searches for a fancy pink birthday party and came across this super cute party! Hello?! Could it be any cuter?  Thus we had our “Fancy & Fabulous 5th Birthday Party!”

We made these purse invitations that had fancy jewels on them and a fancy feather boa handle with their invitation inside:

Earlier in the year we had an event where we made the ever-popular tissue paper poms and I knew that I wanted to use them somehow for Makenzi’s party so I saved them for a couple months and am so glad I did! They worked perfectly with our décor!

And of course, you have to have a banner because well, that’s what you do.  I couldn’t decide whether to do her name or Happy Birthday or both.  But since I was running out of time I decided to do just her name. Smile  Which I totally LOVE!

I had ordered this super cute pettiskirt online for a super low price (LOVE a good deal!) and then got some leggings and shirt to go with.

When all of our “guests” (Kenzi’s word, not mine) arrived we all sat at the table and I read one of Kenzi’s cute books: “Princess Party”.  The girls totally loved it!

Then it was time to get FANCY!

First they picked out a tiara and made them fancy with pretty gems all over them.

Then it was time to make fancy bracelets with pretty pink, purple, white, clear beads.S1038701

Once we were done with that it was time to pick out polish to make our fingernails all fancy.  Kenzi chose all of them.  SmileS1038709

I loved the idea of playing PINKO from that website and so I made some PINKO cards for each of the girls and they used pink and white M&M’s as their markers and as they won they got to pick out a fun prize! We spent the most time playing this game. The girls were LOVING it!S1038722S1038725

Picking out a prize!

And what’s a birthday party without singing Happy Birthday and some yummy cupcakes?!  So we did exactly that and proceeded to load their plates with lots of sugary goodness SmileS1038754S1038757

Kenzi had a BLAST with all her friends there to celebrate her special birthday with her! This was her first friend party and it went much better than I anticipated!  I was super nervous about it for some reason but was so glad to hear that the girls had a great time!! Yay!!

McKenzie is one lucky girl to have such a creative mommy. I love theme parties... so much fun. The young women are WaY lucky to be getting you!!! I just have to make one apology, until tonight when I was reading your last few posts I had no idea about little Bailee having to be hospitalized. That is so scary. I am so sorry, I wish I had known so I could of helped out. So glad you are surrounded by such good friends, family and neighbors.
