Shamu! Shamu! Shamu!

Jed actually got a WHOLE day off before beginning his Fellowship so I, being the planner that I am, was fully prepared to take advantage of every minute of it! We drove to San Antonio Sunday night and prepped ourselves (mostly Makenzi) for a fun-filled day at Sea World-San Antonio the next day!

We started out with a yummy breakfast at Denny's and then headed off to Sea World. One of my FANTASTIC clients hooked us up with some tickets for the day. We entered the park and immediately began checking out the show times and making our agdena for the day. First up was the Shamu show "Believe!" and it was AWESOME!! Makenzi was having an absolute blast just dancing to all the music before the show even began!

Next up was seeing the 'Quenqins' as Makenzi calls them! She thought they were so cool and did a little shopping for her own quenqin after the exhibit:

Then we wanted to catch the Clyde and Seamore's "The Cannery Row Caper" show which was really funny!
After checking out the Alligators and a few other spots we decided to let Kenzi run around and do her own thing for a little bit. She had SO MUCH FUN in this "jumpin jumpin" as she calls it. She was so busy carrying the big blocks and jumping on them and falling all over the place. Poor thing was so hot after running around and playing so hard she guzzled down the ice water we had waiting for her!

The last show we took in was "Viva!" which featured acrobats and the Beluga whales. It was really cool and there was just so much going on it was hard to focus on just one thing! Here's a small video of it:

One of the better parts of the day for me was going to "Lost Lagoon" which is their water park! I was just so stinkin hot that I needed to COOL DOWN!! I could've stayed in the pool a lot longer but we still had more to do! Kenzi had a good time and by a good time I mean that she was actually brave enough to GET IN the water and walk around and actually sit down next to me!! She's so silly. I think it just felt good for her to cool off a bit too!
Afterwards we went to check out the dolphins which was fun because we could get so close to them:

It was SUCH A FUN DAY!! I would definitely go again just to catch more of the shows we couldn't get to and to watch some of the ones we did see again! Makenzi did amazingly well considering it was super, duper hot and she hadn't had a nap ALL DAY (which made for a very peaceful 3 hour drive home that night!). Kenzi picked out a puppet Shamu as her souvenir to take home with her! She's so funny, she puts it on and will bite her other hand with it, sound effects and all! I absolutely LOVED watching her throughout the day taking in all the action. She clapped when she needed to clap and yelled "Yay!!" when the fishes did cool things, she danced to all the music at each of the shows, she didn't hesitate for a second to show all her enthusiasm at each of the exhibits and most of all it just made for a wonderful day to have her take in this experience...it's so fun being a mom!!
