Still working on wrapping up 2011 on this good ol’ blog. A week after we got back from Disneyland and Jax had his birthday, we celebrated a birthday for THIS little Miss:
Our little “cake-cake” is ONE!!!! Hello?? Where in the world did that year go? I think the more kids you have the faster the time goes. Or maybe it’s the older they get the faster the time goes or maybe the more FUN you have the faster the time flies…WHATEVER it is, I have NO idea where the whole first year of her life went! I mean, REALLY!!!
Bailee has been a GREAT baby, a great sleeper, nursed well, happy, content, sweet, everything that makes up a great baby = Bailee!
We always call her our little “cake-cake” or Bailee-cakes so we decided to have a “cake” themed party. I always have the best intentions and think I have all the time in the world to get all my “creative projects” done in PLENTY of time. However, true to form, I was running around like a crazy woman all day on her birthday trying to get every detail I had in my head played out and created before her party started. Luckily my very dear and thoughtful friend called me and asked if I needed help before the party and if they could come do anything for me! AAAAAAAAWWWW (that’s the angels singing)
By party time we had everything ready to go!! OH, wait everything but the MAIN COURSE! Ya, we were planning on feeding everyone pulled pork sandwiches, too bad my pork wasn’t done!! (Deep breath) So a quick call to my awesome in-laws, quick trip to Sam’s and we have ourselves some yummy hamburgers grilling in no time!
Yummy birthday cake for the birthday girl
Fun birthday banner my friend, Staci helped me with that has a picture of her first 12 months of life (6 mos on each side )
The birthday party spread:
Daddy showing off his grilling skills
Opening some fun gifts from family and friends (and yes, Bailee HAD to have that spoon!-don’t mess with the birthday girl!)
And of course some birthday cake for the birthday girl! (And yes, still with the spoon)
It was a great day! The weather was perfect (thank goodness! you never know at the beginning of October how the weather is going to be here!) Bailee was in a good mood and happy to have everyone around. We had lots of friends and family come and celebrate her bid day with us. It was fabulous!
Happy first birthday, my little princess! I love you so much and we are so lucky to have you in our little family! HUGS!!

What a fun little birthday party! Despite the last minute snafu (snafoo??? how do you spell that word?!), it all worked out in the end! By the way, who put together that SUPER cute banner? Whoever that was sure did a great job!! ;)
