The Grocery Store

I realize that this is such a silly post but it was quite the experience so I just have to write about it. We have a new grocery store that opened up in the area and so we got these coupons in the mail for FREE food! There were no catches, no minimum purchase or buy one get one scenarios..just FREE food! So me and my friend decided to brave the crowds today and go and see what the fuss was all about. Well, we got there and lucked out on a parking spot fairly quickly. We were greeted at the door with flyers and coupons for more free food. We walked in and were immediately overwhelmed by all the commotion going on and decided to make a game plan (seriously, I know...a game plan for the grocery store??). Anyway, we were walking past their amazing organic produce section enjoying samples of yummy, fresh pineapple, cantaloupe and more and realized we weren't getting much done munching on all the samples! So back to our "plan". I pushed Makenzi in the cart and Amanda searched out the FREE items. Then we walked passed their fresh seafood (I mean FRESH) section where literally there were live crab scooting around just waiting for the next customer to choose them and an amazingly large lobster!

I'm not much of a seafood person (at all!) so don't really look for these things anywhere however, just seeing them so fresh at the grocery store was a little much for my stomach! hahaha!

Anyway, we made our way around the enormous store passing the Men's Warehouse dry cleaners, the furniture section and a bank. We found some awesome deals along the way and picked up more coupons for later (next week!). We had to get a couple of rain checks for two items that they ran out of but other than that did pretty well! Walking around we noticed more things like the little restaurant they have in the front of the store, the live cooking lessons taking place (literally they will be filming a cooking show from that location this weekend) and pretty much anything else you would need! I ESPECIALLY liked the "Barney" shopping cart that looked like a little car for little ones (with a door and window) with a mini TV screen that played a Barney video for the kiddos while you shopped and put your groceries on top!

Overall we did pretty well. I was so exhausted by the time we left!! We have coupons for the next 3 weeks for free food so I'm sure we will be back!!

Speaking of shopping. I went to a boutique today here in BRC. They had tons of way cute head bands and barretts all the way from infant to adult. They were way cute. I got the girls card and she also has a web site. It's chloereese.com.

You know, I have always loved living in a small city. But, with that being said, I also would love to be in or near a place where you have opportunities like this!! It sounds like a great store. I bet it was amazing to see all they could offer and still be in one store. We will have to put that on our 'tour' list for when we come out next Spring. Amazing that you would end up with 3 weeks of free food. Good for you guys!!!

That sounds awesome! I especially love the Barney shopping cart!!! You know a Mom must have invented that! What a great idea! Free food isn't a bad idea either. :-)

Wow, I think we need one of those stores here. Grocery shopping is hard work with kids.

I love your blog! I am going to have to learn a few things from you. It is so cute.
