Discovery Green

What a beautiful day it was here today! The sky was blue, no clouds, a slight breeze and the warm sun was beating down on us! My friend Amanda and I decided to take full advantage of it and take our kiddos to this new park downtown called Discovery Green. Everything about this park is GREEN, including the parking meters (solar powered). There are beautiful plants, flowers and trees everywhere, a restaurant and a cafe if you're interested. Also, there is a place set up for entertainment and a pond of sorts that you can rent a paddle boat! Makenzi completely enjoyed herself on the playground and running around the wide open green space. The water features were nice to cool you down a bit too if you got a bit too warm! All in all it was a fun day. We took a picnic lunch to eat and soaked in the sun (Makenzi of course had her SPF on!)

Amanda and Keedan in a "Listening Vessel"

The two big round objects are the "Listening Vessels". You each sit in one and talk at a normal volume and you can hear the person talking as if they were sitting right next to you! It's so cool!
This is what occupied Makenzi for quite some time. She loved splashing her hands in the water and making a mess! Oh well, it cooled her off some and she loved it so it was worth it!

It was such a fun day! We'll definitely have to go back!

ahhhh...its so hard to watch Kenzigirl discover the world in pictures! I bet she had such a great time at the park. Her face is so lit up just being in the water. I am glad she loves the water. I can hardly wait until she can come and play in our ponds!!
You know, that is one thing that you will NOT have in Ogden...you won't have such a variety of places to go discover and enjoy. I think that is one huge advantage of being in a large city. But hey, we can alllll handle the alternative right???? hahahahahahaha
