Well, in an effort to save a little moula these days I've been looking for KILLER DEALS!! Mostly I've been looking for some summer clothes for Makenzi that will keep her cool all summer long since it gets so blasted hot here!! Lately I've found the following:
1) I went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries and wandered over to the kids section to look at all the brightly colored shirts and shorts but truthfully didn't want to spend $6.97 on a pair of shorts when she needs like 5 pairs (I told you...I needed a KILLER DEAL!). So I was wandering around my favorite rack (AKA the "Clearance" rack) and found some cute shirts for $3.00. Then an employee got my attention and pointed me to a section on the other side that had everything marked down to $1.00!!!! Yes, that's ONE DOLLAR! So I got her 4 pairs of shorts a couple of onesies and some t-shirts all for $1 each!! They are super cute and perfect for days that she's in school where she runs around and gets messy and makes beautiful art with the not-so-washable finger paint! YAY!!
2) This past weekend Jed, Makenzi and I were wandering around Old Navy and I went to check out the toddler section just to see what they had (no intentions of making ANY purchases!) when ever so innocently my eyes went straight to a price tag that said $0.97!! What?!? So I grabbed the tag to see what it was attached to and came across some adorable short sleeved shirts that were all only 97 cents EACH!! So naturally I picked out 3 of the cutest styles and walked out of Old Navy buying 3 items for under $5! Sweet!
3) Also, in an effort to prepare for this little one on the way I was looking for new crib bedding that would suit the already painted nursery. Through much internet searching for the right colors and the right deal I finally came across Overstock.com and found the cutest bedding!! It matches the colors in the room perfectly (minus the pink hearts I will need to paint over that was a border on the wall that matched Makenzi's bedding) and was a great price! It was originally $200 however, I got the quilt, bumper, bed skirt and sheet for $88 shipped! Such a deal!!! Plus did I mention how adorable it is?? I'll post pictures of the revamped nursery when I get around to revamping it :) No promises of that being in the very near future...sorry ;)
4) Jed's graduation banquet is coming up and of course everyone is dressed to the nines at this dinner. Well being pregnant and all I felt as if I was searching for the impossible: modest dress that isn't maternity (they never fit right) that will fit over my belly and will be "classy" enough for the dinner. Well, Jed helped me with this venture (mostly helping keep Makenzi entertained while I tried on a million dresses) and then giving his honest opinion...usually without saying a word :) Thanks husband! However, we found a dress that I think will be just perfect! It was originally $54 and was on sale for $29! Yay! Oh and we found it of all places at Kohl's! Who'd a thought??
Anyway, those are the latest deals I've come across and am always looking for more. Feel free to let me know what awesome deals YOU find! I would love to hear!!!
